The fire upstairs burned through the floor causing flames to spread to the downstairs lounge area of the former pub.

Six firefighters wore breathing apparatus and used two hose reels, two ventilation units and ladders to gain proper access and extinguish the fire.

Severe damage was caused to parts of both the first floor and ground floor and an investigation into the cause of the blaze has now been launched.
