Fire crews tackle blaze at derelict building in Burnley

Firefighters spent three hours yesterday evening (Sunday) extinguishing a blaze at a derelict building in Railway Street, Burnley.

Two fire engines from the town attended the scene just before 9pm.

A spokesman for Lancashire Fire and Rescue said: "Firefighters used one breaking apparatus, one hose reel and one jet to extinguish the fire and remained in attendance for approximately three hours."
