Facebook pals help Pendleside Hospice

“Burnley Past and Present” hosted a Christmas Party at the Burnley Miners’ Club in Plumbe Street to raise the funds.

The group is also planning a series of charity events for later in the year.

Group member Jacqui Parr said: “We had a great evening. More than 70 people attended and we raised a great amount. We had a pie and peas supper and held a raffle and auction to raise money on top of the ticket sales. We are looking forward to getting together and planning more fund-raisers in the next year.”

Since it was launched in 2012 the group has raised thousands of pounds for charity. (s)
