The Bank of Dave entrepreneur will star in a special one-off Channel 4 show, “Dave’s Guide to Spending”, in the primetime 6pm slot on Sunday.

The show explores where money goes when consumers pay for various goods and services and whether they are worth the price.

In the hour-long episode Dave takes aim at bottled water companies starting his own exclusive bottled water range – Water of the North – using Burnley tap water.

Taking it out on the road to Burnley’s high-end eateries, he is amazed to find even discerning palates are fooled by his swanky packaging and sales pitch

He also sets up his own renewable power station to try and generate enough power to run the Burnley Christmas lights for free.

The programme heavily features Burnley, Pendle and Clitheroe along with Dave’s garage in Colne.

“We’re up against the big boys at this time on a Sunday evening and it’s great that Burnley and the surrounding area is getting that sort of coverage.

“I’ve seen the programme and it portrays Burnley in a really positive light. I wanted to show these experts how beautiful this area is so I took them up Pendle Hill and they were blown away by the views.

“Channel Four are so happy with it they thought it deserved a primetime weekend slot.”

Dave’s previous shows include ‘Bank of Dave’, ‘Loan Ranger’, ‘Fighting The Fat Cats’, ‘Secret Millions’, ‘Can Property Pay your Wages’, and ‘The Shoppers’ Guide to Saving Money’.

He believes his latest offering could be the best yet.

“This is a special show. A lot of work went into it. It took around four-and-a-half months to film. When you see the finished product though, it’s all worthwhile.

“Dave H from ‘Bank of Dave’ makes an appearance as well and that’s definitely worth seeing.”

This show marks Dave continued work with not just Channel 4 but also US giants Warner Bros. – a relationship he believes will lead to even bigger things.

“Working with Warner Bros.is something else. I have worked very closely with them for over a year now; they are an amazing company to work with and I intend to continue to make massive ground breaking programs with them in the future.

“Channel 4 are just brilliant as well. They recognise that I still have my businesses to run and they just let me get on with it. It is a bit of a balancing act but it keeps me busy.

“When I started in television I found it very interesting and it’s something that I’m still enjoying. The best part about it is the being able to get out there and help people. The shows have all been extremely rewarding.”
