‘Elvis’ stars at restaurant Curry and the King night

A magnificent turn-out of over 110 Fence residents and friends turned out to a “Curry and the King” night at Fence’s Babar Elephant Restaurant for an event organised by Fence Friends Park Fund to raise funds to upgrade the local village Children’s Playground.

The food provided by the Babar Elephant’s chefs was outstanding and the service excellent.

“Elvis” himself – Fence’s own Andy Brown – entertained the guests with energy and enthusiasm and created an atmosphere which was electric. So much so that he had them rocking and screaming in the aisles.

Ticket sales and the raffle raised £970 for the park fund and – thanks to Barclays Bank – this matched by a further donation, making the total for the evening £1,940. The Park Fund total after only a few months stands at £5,493, and the next big event in Fence is Fence United’s 5th Annual Ball at the Fence Gate Inn on May 17th.

Tickets for this cost £30 each and can be obtained from Catherine Nutter on 690591 or by emailing details to: [email protected]
