Burnley magistrates heard how Sanderson, who was said to have ongoing issues with alcohol, had not been in court for over 12 months.

The defendant, of Milton Street, Padiham, admitted being drunk and disorderly in Milton Street.

He wasn't represented by a solicitor and was asked if he had anything to say about the offence. He replied:" No, thank you. "

The magistrates, who told him "You need to get yourself sorted out," gave him a 12-month conditional discharge and told him to pay £85 costs and a £20 victim surcharge.
