Don’t miss the Middle Earth Beer Festival in Hurst Green

THE countdown is on for the action-packed Middle Earth Beer Festival, to be staged in Hurst Green.

There’s something for all the family this year with Saturday (April 14th) seeing the field next to Hurst Green Village Hall - which hosts the popular beer festival and live music - seeing a family fun day, with a falconry display, Penny Plain Theatre, a dog display team, human vegetable machine and recreation of the Pendle Witch Trials.

And, in honour of London staging the 2012 Olympics, Hurst Green will be getting into the sporting spirit with the Hobbit Olympics, with fun games for children. The event runs from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and entrance is £2 for adults and children get in free.

The beer festival itself is officially opened at 6 p.m. on Thursday (April 12th), with live music from local band The Ragamuffins. The following night (Friday, April 13th) the beer festival again kicks off at 6 p.m. with live music from The Ribble and Booze Band. Tickets on each night are £5.

On Saturday (April 14th), the beer festival doors open from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a live acoustic afternoon running from 1 p.m. to 5 p.m.. Entrance is £2, children free. In the evening, the doors open at 6 p.m. for a grand finale with live music from The Swing Commanders. Tickets are £10.

There is still a chance for businesses to sponsor a barrel at this year’s festival and help the North West Air Ambulance.
