David takes up new role after 32 years with NatWest

A senior banker who has supported hundreds of Pendle entrepreneurs during his 32-year career with NatWest has a newly-created business development role.

David Haslam joins Lancashire-based Pierce Chartered Accountants as business development lead, working alongside colleagues in identifying new opportunities.

As well as continuing to support business clients requiring a range of services, Pierce is building on its specialist experience within the property, legal support, manufacutring and social care sectors.

Mr Haslam has been bank business NatWest’s commercial director for East Lancashire for the past 14 years having started out in the graduate placement scheme and followed a route which eventually led to commercial management.

His role at Pierce will include managing and developing the general practice and additional business streams, plus identifying new clients and opportunities. Mr Haslam will also help client companies with funding requirements.

And he said: “I’ve worked alongside Pierce for many years and am delighted to take up a position with the premier accountants in Lancashire. I hope to bring my commercial experience to help them further develop their professional offering.”

Mr Haslam, who lives with his wife near Clitheroe, is a keen fell walker and swimmer.
