On Sunday, Robyn Lee (21), of Colne Road, abseiled down the bell tower at the Trafford Centre with her colleague Justine Lorriman.

The pair took on the arduous challenge in memory of Robyn’s dad Dominic, who died after his motorcycle collided with a grey Hyundai car on the A65 Skipton Road. They have so far raised £336 in aid of road safety charity Brake.

Robyn said: “When my dad was killed in May we were in shock and we weren’t functioning properly.

“When we left the hospital we were given a pack produced by Brake that helped us to organise what we’d need to do in the weeks that followed.

“It is a fantastic charity and we want to do our bit to help them to keep providing this much-needed support.”

Now Robyn is appealing for more adventure-seekers to take the plunge for Brake.

The charity is currently looking for fund-raisers to do a 160ft. bungee jump as part of an organised event at the Salford Water Sports Centre, in Salford Quays, on January 18th.

Brake’s senior development officer Rich Andrew said: “Brake can’t thank Robyn and Justine enough for taking on this challenge in memory of Dominic and raising funds for Brake.

“The money they are raising will help us continue offering support to families that have been devastated by road crashes and campaigning for safer roads.

“We are calling on anyone inspired by their courageous efforts to follow their lead and sign up to one of our adventurous fund-raising events.”
