Weather conditions have lead to many accidents, but heavy rain and a lack of visibility didn’t stop one driver doing 90mph on his way to buy furniture.
Other patrols have stopped the driver of a VW Polo in Leyland reported to have been driving at people and other vehicles, and in Poulton, a ‘zombie’ knife and drug equipment was found when an Audi was driven dangerously past an unmarked patrol car.

5. More than 100mph

7. 30mph on the motorway
Police were called to a report that the driver of this Skoda had failed their driving test in Blackpool and were driving back to Manchester unsupervised. The car was seen on the M55 at Preston travelling at 30mph. The car was stopped, the driver reported and the car seized. Photo: Lancs Police
8. Christmas Day
Just 11 minutes into Christmas Day this BMW was stopped by patrol HO30 in Golden Way, Penwortham, due to the manner of driving. The driver failed a roadside breath test with a reading of 88. The driver provided a further reading of 88 in custody and will be charged. Photo: Lancs Police
