Vandals set fire to toilet block in Clitheroe castle grounds

Police are appealing for information after vandals and arsonists tried to set fire to the gents' toilets in the castle grounds.

Firefighters tackled the fire yesterday (Thursday), which they believe was started by some rubbish being lit. Luckily, no damage was caused but police are keen to trace those responsible.

A spokesman for Ribble Valley Police said: "Yesterday, we attended an incident at the toilets of the castle grounds in Clitheroe. The fire brigade had been called to a small rubbish fire that had been started in the male toilets. Luckily, no damage was caused. We are appealing for anyone who saw anything to get in touch with us, please call us on 101 quoting reference number LC-20200702-0880."
