Stab victim suffered chest injuries following attack near bus depot

Police have confirmed that a man was stabbed in the chest in Burnley yesterday evening.

Officers were called at around 6-45pm last night to the report that a man had been found injured close to the Queensgate bus depot on Colne Road, near to Peart Street and Hind Street.

A police spokesman said: "The man had suffered a stab wound to the chest and was taken to hospital to be treated. He has since been discharged.

"An investigation is underway and the area where the man was found has been cordoned off whilst officers investigate."

No one has been arrested at this stage. Anyone with information is asked to call police on 101 quoting incident reference 1274 of April 28th.
