Police want to trace woman who witnessed indecent exposure

Police are trying to trace a woman who is thought to have witnessed a man exposing himself in Burnley.

At around 5-20am on Tuesday December 6th, a man flashed himself at a 47-year-old woman on Brennand Street.

However, she had been approached by another woman just previous to the incident who urged her to be cautious as she had just seen a man exposing himself. It is this woman police want to find.

Det. Sgt Louise Darcy from Burnley CID said: “If you think this was you passing on this advice, please get in touch as you could have vital information that could assist us with our investigation.”

The witness is described around 5ft. 6in, around 20 to 24 years old, of slim build, with light coloured hair, possibly long, which was seen poking out from under her coat hood.

She was wearing a blue parka with a fur trim and was possibly holding a carrier bag.

A 47-year-old man from Burnley has been arrested in relation to the exposure incident and is currently in police custody.
