Police target Nelson 'drugs streets'
Police have promised to keep a close eye on two streets in Nelson after complaints from residents about drug dealing in the neighbourhood.
Officers visited Canal Mews and Clayton Street after a tip-off from residents of criminal activity at certain houses in the streets.
A police spokesman said: "We have received information regarding some addresses on these two streets from concerned residents who are fed up of the drug dealing and drug taking problem and the nuisance that comes with it.
"We have taken immediate action and conducted visits to the suspect addresses. No drugs were found today, however, we will be keeping a close eye on them and this area is on our patrol plan.
"Thank you to very much to members of the public that report suspicious activities to us, this makes our job in protecting you much easier."
