Officers from the rural taskforce and immediate response were called to Clitheroe Castle playground yesterday afternoon following reports of a man walking around the area in possession of the weapon.
The man was located by officers within a short time on Bawdlands and the air weapon was recovered and the suspect arrested and taken in for questioning.
