The incident happened yesterday evening (Saturday) in the Bank Hall area of Burnley.

A spokesman for Burnley and Padiham Police said: "Tonight eagle-eyed officers spotted two mopeds on the back street of Pine Street. The riders of the vehicles couldn't prove ownership of the vehicles so both have been seized as suspected stolen for further investigation.

"Shame for the two lads who purchased the bikes without checking them out first.
