Police launch appeal after female Burnley supermarket worker robbed by two men armed with machetes

The shocking attacked happened at the Asda store in Princess Way at around 8pm on Friday, January 15th,
A staff member had been walking from the petrol station to the store when she was approached by two men in the car park.

Hide AdThe men had machetes and demanded cash from the victim, a woman in her 20s, before grabbing her handbag and making off in a silver Kia Picanto. The woman suffered minor injuries in the incident.
The Kia was later found on fire around 8.10pm in Ashfield Road.
Hannah Winkley, a police investigation officer at Burnley CID, said: “We are very keen to trace anyone who might have information in connection with this robbery.
“Did you see what happened in the car park? Or the Kia being driven onto Ashfield Road?
