Police investigation following stabbing in Burnley

Police in Burnley are investigating a stabbing in the Colne Road area of town yesterday.

Police shut part of the busy road yesterday evening following the incident, which saw a man taken to hospital.

It is not known at this stage the extent of the injuries or the identity of the victim.

A police Facebook post said: "We have had to close Colne Road in Burnley due to on going incident. Please be careful when travelling in the area. We will update you once the road is reopened, thank you."
