Police CCTV appeal: Man left in hospital after shocking Brierfield metal bar attack

Officers were called at around 3-45pm on December 2nd after a report a man in his 30s had been injured.

The man had been walking along Burnley Road when he was involved in a verbal altercation with a man on the other side of the road.

The victim continued walking towards Colne Road when a blue Vauxhall Astra pulled up and the same man got out of the vehicle.

The suspect chased the man before hitting him with a metal bar, causing bruising to the victim’s arm, as well as a fractured rib.

The attacker made off in the Vauxhall, with the victim taken to hospital for treatment.
