Police appeal after arson on shop unit in Burnley

Police are appealing for information following an arson attack on a shop unit in Burnley this morning.

Fire-fighters were called to Makan Estates and Lettings on Briercliffe Road at shortly after 7am to reports of the building being well ablaze. Thankfully fire-fighters at the scene prevented the fire spreading any further.

A police spokesman said: “Through enquiries at the scene, we believe the fire may have been started deliberately at approximately 6-45am.

"Please can residents check any CCTV they may have in the area and commuters check for any dashcam footage if they were in the area at the time.
