Christopher McKillop (36), of no fixed address, is being sought following a number of frauds in August.

McKillop is believed to have approached residents in the Burnley and Padiham areas claiming he has run out of petrol and needs money to get his car back on the road.

Despite promises to pay the money back, McKillop is alleged to have taken the cash and made off from the area. Victims have made similar allegations in Barrowford, Brierfield and Blackburn.

McKillop is also believed to have approached homeowners in the county offering to carry out building work, but having taken payment, not returned.

In one incident, McKillop is thought to have taken a credit card from an 80-year-old victim in Barrowford and used it at the Next store in Colne on August 15th.

It is suspected the 36-year-old could be in the Bournemouth area and police are continuing to appeal for information.

PC Rachel Carroll, of Lancashire Police, said: “McKillop is still wanted for a number of offences.

“Despite appealing for information in October, he has yet to be traced.

“Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact police immediately.

“We have concerns he could be targeting vulnerable, elderly people elsewhere in the country and we need to find him.”
