A man has been arrested on suspicion of murder after an 85-year-old woman was found dead at a house in Burnley in the early hours of yesterday morning.

Police were called by paramedics at 3.30am to reports that a woman had been found with head injuries in Prairie Crescent. She was pronounced dead at the scene and her death is being treated as suspicious.
