A man was arrested this morning after walking into Burnley Asda's George store with a knife.

The culprit was detained by police officers in the opticians' section of the store in Princess Way. It is believed no violence was threatened

Police officers arrested the man at the scene and inquiries are now continuing into the incident which happened at around 9am.
