Family's devastation after sentimental scooter stolen months after dad's death

A treasured scooter belonging to a much-loved Burnley dad who died earlier this year has been destroyed by heartless thieves.

The black Vespa had been Alan Dixon's pride and joy for years.

Alan (63) died in February, and in his final days gifted the prized possession to son Billy.

The scooter, along with a red Vespa belonging to Alan's best friend Earl, was stolen from a garage in Portsmouth Avenue at approximately 1-30am today.

Alan's Vespa was found burnt out in Burnley this morning.
