Driver crashes into concrete pillar after trying to flee police in Burnley

Officers from Burnley and Padiham Police neighbourhood team managed to recover the car, but the occupants fled the scene.

The incident happened over the weekend.

A police spokesman said: "This vehicle had been travelling around making off from police patrols, when sighted in Burnley the driver attempted to get away.

"The occupants clearly were not local and decided to turn down a blocked off street crashing into a concrete pillar. Unfortunately, the occupants made off prior to patrols getting to the vehicle. It would appear from what was inside the vehicle the occupants were over in Lancashire up to no good after finding equipment used to commit crime. Vehicle recovered and off the streets."
