Drama came to the picturesque and sleepy surroundings of Wycoller Country Park when police officers were involved in a dramatic foot chase of two suspected thieves.

The popular beauty spot in Trawden has been targeted by thieves in recent weeks who have been breaking into and stealing belongings from parked cars in the park.But, during the latest attempt, when two suspicious men were spotted in a Renault car, police sprang into action and pursued the offenders who ran off, but were later arrested.Police confirmed that officers were alerted around 2-30am last Thursday to suspicious activity. When approached, the two men made off, but were arrested at 4pm in Trawden later that day.A 28-year-old man and a 22-year-old man, both from Halifax, were arrested on suspicion of theft from a vehicle and released on bail until April 11th.Police confirmed they have been aware of a spate of thefts and have increased activity in the park as a result.
