Case against bursar who stole £140,000 from school is adjourned
Susan Margaret Ashworth (57), from Dorset Drive, Clitheroe, stole the money from her employers Baxenden St John’s CE Primary School between January 2011 and August 2016.
She previously admitted theft by employee and a money laundering offence and was due to be sentenced on Friday, but the case was adjourned.
The blonde sat quietly in the dock at Preston Crown Court as the brief hearing took place.
Allegations of money laundering were dropped against her husband Neil Robert Ashworth (60), who worked as a teacher at Ribblesdale High School.
Judge Beverley Lunt renewed her bail until her next appearance on June 21st.
She warned her to prepare herself for her sentence and added: "What we are looking at is the length of your jail term, not whether you get a jail term."
