Cannabis farms raided by police in Burnley and Oswaldtwistle

On Friday (September 18), neighbourhood officers from Hyndburn uncovered a cannabis set up at a home in Blackburn Road, Oswaldtwistle.
Upon entering the home, officers discovered 125 mature cannabis plants growing within four rooms of the property.

Hide AdThe electricity supply had been bypassed and officers arranged for Electricity North West to visit and make the home secure.
Officers from all sections of the Hyndburn Neighbourhood Team then dismantled the set-up, seizing plants with an estimated street value of more than £60,000, along with expensive growing equipment.
No arrests have been made at this stage, said Lancashire Police.
Less than 24 hours later, on Saturday afternoon (September 19), officers with Burnley East Neighbourhood Team found a second cannabis farm in Burnley.

Hide AdTwo police constables said they "happened across" the illegal indoor garden at a home in Burnley Wood, where a number of mature plants were found to be growing .
Lancashire Police said the cultivator of the plants has been identified and an investigation is ongoing.
