Burnley magistrates heard how Omid Fariq (28) blew 68 microgrammes of alcohol in 100 millilitres of breath when he was tested at the police station. The legal limit is 35. He wasn’t insured and didn’t have a licence either.

Fariq, of Lindsay Street, in the town, was caught on Trafalgar Street, Burnley, on February 16th.

He admitted driving with excess alcohol, not having insurance and driving otherwise than in accordance with a licence and was fined £150, with a £32 victim surcharge and £85 costs.
