Arsonists destroy Colne school's treasured forest area

Heartbroken staff and parents of Lord Street Primary School have slammed 'sick' vandals who burnt down their Forest School.

The devastating blaze destroyed the treasured area along with the shed which contained the forest school kit.

Firefighters tackled the blaze yesterday evening (Thursday). Thick, black billow of smoke could be seen for miles around. A joint investigation between the fire service and police is under way.

Furious parents have taken to Facebook to voice their anger. One wrote: "Absolutely sickening and senseless. These degenerates should be made to clear and rebuild it again and pay for the equipment lost including their parents who are ultimately responsible for their delinquent children." While another said: "Absolutely disgraceful. What is wrong with youths today?"

The destruction of the Forest School has caused a lot of upset in the area and a fundraising page has been set up to rebuild the precious outdoor area.
