Detectives are appealing for information about how Mr Kadzevicius suffered his injury and are particularly keen to speak to anyone who may have seen him between 9.30pm on Tuesday (March 24th) and 7pm on Wednesday (March 25th).

Det Ch Insp Zoe Russo, of Lancashire Police’s Force Major Investigation Team, said: “At this time we are carrying out inquiries to establish how Andrius Kadzevicius sustained his injury.

“It is known Andrius left his home address at Crawford Street, Nelson, at around 9.30pm on Tuesday (March 24) and returned home at some point prior to 7pm the following day. I am trying to establish his movements during that time.

“I am appealing to anyone who has any information about his whereabouts during those times or saw Andrius themselves. I understand individuals may be reluctant to come forward if they have not taken the current advice regarding staying at home but I would urge those individuals to make contact and provide information.
