Craig’s artistic honour to Sir Bradley and the Tour

Craig Holden (43), of Waddington, created his own artist’s impression of Sir Bradley in honour of the cycling ace and the Tour of Britain cycle race.

Craig, who works for the environment directorate at Lancashire County Council, waited outside Wiggins’ Team bus alongside other fans on Monday.

“He came straight over to me and said he had spotted my picture as soon as he arrived on the Team bus because he was looking out of the window and he wanted to get a closer look,” said Craig. “He said he was impressed how good it was and said he was flattered, and it had made his day that somebody had spent so much time doing a drawing of him.

“He then said I deserve a full autograph for doing the drawing and did a nice big signature on it!

“Then he posed for this photo.”

Craig and his wife Sally took the day off work to watch the Tour in Clitheroe town centre. They then cycled up to the Nick o’ Pendle to catch the first King of the Mountain section, before cycling to Bolton-by-Bowland to watch the peloton fly past. They then cycled back to Downham to watch the riders drop down off Pendle Hill and sprint through to Chatburn. It was then home to see the live finish on TV.
