Couple help Pendleside Hospice on golden wedding anniversary

Mr and Mrs Carter, of Clough Lane, Simonstone, gave £125 to Pendleside Hospice from their anniversary party in July at Whalley Golf Club. The couple asked guests to give a donation instead of giving them presents.

Mrs Carter said: “We would like to say a huge thank-you to all our family and friends for their generous donations, and for travelling from all over the country to enjoy our special day with us. We hope everyone enjoyed the day just as much as we did.

“Having gone through treatment for cancer myself, I know how hard it can be for people going through it, and for their families. Keith and I wanted to raise money for the hospice that I know does an amazing job.”
