Communities rally round with offers of help for flood hit victims

In true British spirit the people of Lancashire started rallying round with offers of help and accommodation for flood hit victims within a couple of hours of disaster striking.

In Burnley Shelly Heap offered to open the doors of Lowerhouse Cricket Club and in Padiham Catherine Large offered accommodation to anyone in need at the Starkie Arms pub.

On the Clitheroe Buy and Sell page on facebook Paul Hacker said that any families in need were welcome to use a caravan he has outside his home and he even volunteered to wash clothes and provide meals.

On the same page Amy Cavaleri volunteered her own home in Church as accommodation for up two people and said her father could also pick up anyone who took her offer.
