Louise Warren-Beck (24), of Thorn Grove, who already holds the Miss Colne title, will strut her stuff in evening gown and swimwear rounds at a two-day event at the Hilton Hotel in Liverpool on March 19th and 20th. She will also have to take part in an interview and photography shoot.

Louise, who works as a customer service adviser at Housing Pendle and is married to Sean, said too many beauty pageants are restricted to single women with no children.

“I don’t think there should be any restrictions. Just because I’m married and have two children shouldn’t mean I can’t take part. But a lot of the pageants only accept unmarried women with no children.”

Louise said modelling also runs in the family, both her daughters Maisie (6) and Matilda (3) have taken part in national advertising photoshoots and television campaigns.

“They absolutely love it, they have more experience than me so they can probably give me a few pointers,” said Louise, who is a former pupil of Primet High School.

“I was just looking online and I applied for Miss British Isles on a whim. I didn’t expect to make it to the final.

“I’m excited about it, I’m not nervous yet. Sean is coming with me and my mum and dad as well.

“They are really proud. I’ve even been practising walking in high heels in my living room!”
