Clitheroe student excels in Cambridge competitions

High marks in the Cambridge Physics and Chemistry Challenge competitions placed him in the top 40 of entrants nationally.

As a result of his success, Cambridge invited George, from Clitheroe, to attend three-day courses at the university in both physics and chemistry.

George, who is in his final year at Stonyhurst, said: “The courses were great. I attended undergraduate lectures and advanced practical sessions. I would recommend the Cambridge competitions to other students as they give you extra experience in your A level studies.”

Not only is George a very promising young scientist, he is also a talented mathematician, and hopes to read Mathematics at Cambridge.
