Clitheroe ghost walker filmed for TV

The Clitheroe historian, who has been enjoying a busy Hallowe’en, was in the village with television crews recently to film the Discovery channel programme.

Best known for leading his ghost walks in Clitheroe and beyond, Mr Entwistle has also been busy leading guided coach tours and walks as well as visiting local schools.

For the Discovery channel programme, Mr Entwistle was asked to present a feature relating to Lancashire legends covering such topics as cotton rioting, witches, highwaymen and the odd ghost story.

Mr Entwistle has also just finished writing a book called “Ghostly Tales of the Unexpected”.

In this book, Mr Entwistle has mixed a huge amount of fiction with non-fiction to give the stories a real twist. “Some of the stories are completely fictitious and I’ve had some good feedback from persons who have read them,” said Mr Entwistle.

On Hallowe’en, Mr Entwistle gave a talk entitled “An Evening Of Ghosts, Witches And Murders” at Hurst Green Village Hall.

During the event, Mr Entwistle spoke about the bewitching tales of the Pendle Witches, the often-seen ghostly apparition of Ned King and about murder in the sleepy village of Bashall Eaves. There was also the opportunity to sample the famous malkin pie from Sanwitches of Sabden that were on sale during the event.
