Across three weekends of competition, 19 swimmers from the Clitheroe-based club competed against some of the strongest swimming talent in the region, reaching an impressive 25 finals and recording 18 personal best performances.

The club’s swimmers and relay teams brought home a superb total of 13 medals, securing 13th place overall in the regional medal table — a result the club described as “unlucky for some, but certainly not Clitheroe Dolphins!”

Adding to the celebrations, swimmers Imogen Clarkson and Tom Harris have both qualified for the English National Championships in the 50m and 100m breaststroke events. The achievement marks a major milestone for the pair and reflects the growing strength of the club’s competitive programme.

The success is made even more impressive by the challenges the club has faced this year following the closure of Ribblesdale Pool, the long-time home of Clitheroe Dolphins.

To keep training on track, swimmers and coaches have adapted by travelling across four different venues in the area, attending early morning and late evening sessions to maintain preparation and performance levels.

Despite the disruption, the club continues to thrive and has recently welcomed 10 new swimmers to the Dolphins “pod”.

Club officials praised the dedication shown by everyone involved. “This season has been a huge achievement for the entire club,” they said. “The commitment from our swimmers, coaches, volunteers and parents has been incredible. Training across multiple venues has not been easy, but the resilience and determination shown by everyone has been outstanding.”
