Clarets submit Ings valuation

Burnley have submitted their valuation of Danny Ings to the Premier League after his move to Liverpool.

The Reds have also been asked for their submissions following the striker's summer switch to Anfield.

An independent tribunal is expected to decide how much compensation the Clarets will receive in the new year, when the Professional Football Compensation Committee are likely to meet.

The clubs are some way apart on a fee, which Burnley are entitled to as Ings joined Liverpool at the end of his four-year contract, but was under 24 at the time.

Liverpool are believed to value Ings at around £6m, with Burnley hoping for in the region of £10-12m, having had interest last January in the player from Tottenham Hotspur, who were thought to be willing to pay around that figure.

Ings was determined to move to Liverpool, however, and had earned a regular starting berth under Brendan Rodgers, before coming off the bench to win his first senior England cap against Lithuania last month.

That week, however, back in training after Jürgen Klopp’s arrival at Anfield, Ings suffered a cruciate ligament injury.
