Cigarettes and alcohol stolen in early-morning shop raid

Thieves escaped with cigarettes and alcohol after breaking into a Read shop over the Easter weekend.

Police are appealing for witnesses into the incident, which happened at 3am on April 1st. The offenders smashed the window of Thorougoods convenience store, in Whalley Road and escaped with the items.

A spokesman for Lancashire Police said: "We believe two to three offenders were responsible for carrying out this burglary. Anyone with information should contact police immediately on 101 quoting log 197 of April 1st."
