As well as the main (course) event, local singer Billy D performed live, while a charity auction and a raffle helped to raise a superb £6,500 for the hospice.
Paul Capstick, director of Clearly Interiors, who organised the event alongside Cross Gaits’ publican, Andrew Duxbury, said: “We have had some amazing support not only from local business but from people who have donated prizes personally and I would like to thank them all for their generosity.”

Pendleside Hospice fund-raising manager, Kaye Bartle, added: “We would like to thank the organisers, sponsors and all the contenders. As well as the belly-busting challenge, alternative food was available courtesy of Class 1, Wheel and Butchers and Hargreaves Bakery, from which proceeds were also donated.
