CCTV appeal after man found dead at Nelson house

Police are appealing for information to help identify a man found dead at a property in Nelson.

Police were called by the ambulance Service around 8-40pm on Friday, May 22nd, to a report of a body being found in Manor Street.

The ambulance service had earlier received a report of concern for safety. Fire crews forced entry to the property with the man’s body found inside.

No cause of death has been established but it is not being treated as suspicious.

Following CCTV enquiries, police would like to identify the man pictured, seen at a nearby store on May 18th. Officers believe he could be the same man located at the address in Manor Street.

Officers are appealing for information to help identify him and want to trace the man’s next of kin.

Det Sgt Andy Bleasdale, of Burnley CID, said: “We are appealing for information to help identify a man sadly found dead at an address in Nelson.

“We have conducted a number of enquiries but have yet to identify him and are urging anyone who can assist us to come forward.

“We believe this man, pictured at a local store on May 18th, could be the man who died.

“If you recognise him, please come forward and speak to us. Any information we receive would be treated in the strictest confidence.”
