Car crashes into Burnley canal bridge near Thompson Park
A section of the Leeds and Liverpool Canal towpath has been closed off after a car smashed into bridge railings at the weekend.
The incident happened at around 11-40pm on Saturday when a BMW is reported to have left Ormerod Road, near to Thompson Park, and collided with the canal bridge.
Police and fire crews were called to the scene and an investigation has been launched. Nobody was injured.
