Car abandoned after horror smash in Nelson
A Ford Galaxy people carrier has been found abandoned and badly damaged in a field in the Halifax Road area of Nelson this morning.
Police were called to the scene around 7-45am and found the vehicle had gone through a fence and ended up in the field.
There were no people with the vehicle and it is understood there were no casualities as a result of the accident.
An investigation is under way to try to find out the circumstances and police have not ruled out the possibility that the vehicle had been stolen.
