Can you help solve train Euros theft?

British Transport Police officers are appealing to the public for help after a substantial amount of foreign currency was stolen from a pensioner’s bag.

The incident occurred between 2-30pm and 3pm on Monday, December 29th, between Blackburn and Accrington on the Blackpool South to Colne service.

PC Peter Wilcock said: “A 79-year-old man boarded the train at Preston and sat in the front coach. He left the train at Blackburn, forgetting his bag which he left behind.

“Somewhere between Blackburn and Accrington around £600-worth of Euros was stolen from the bag which was later handed into the train cleaner.”

Officers want to speak to anyone travelling on the same service who may have witnessed the crime.
