The town team saw off a well-organised Rossendale side courtesy of just one goal, with Kofi Marshall proving the match winner.

But it was a real team effort with goalkeeper Cameron Cooke-Green pulling off a superb save in the early stages of the match.

Burnley then started to play some attractive football and took the lead when Marshall finished from close range from a Reece McVay corner to make the score 1-0 to Burnley.

Burnley continued to create chances and hit the post just before half-time through Max McNulty. And they held firm in the second half to preserve their lead to become champions..

Coach Mr John Kelly said: “We deserve to be double Lancashire champions and we have a talented team here with many linked to academies.”
