Luke Glover admitted inflicting grievous bodily harm on victim Kevin Gamble, last October 4, at Burnley Crown Court.

The defendant, of Paythorne Avenue, Burnley, was bailed until August 25, for a pre-sentence report, on condition he does not approach or communicate with Mr Gamble. He has no previous convictions.

Judge Graham Knowles, QC, told Glover: “The fact that I allow you bail and order a pre-sentence report on you is not, of course, any indication as to what sentence you will receive.

“You caused a very serious injury and the judge will have the question of immediate imprisonment in mind.”
