Burnley neighbours stunned as naked men cavort in streets

NEIGHBOURS who witnessed three men frolicking naked through a quiet Burnley estate have slammed police for failing to act.

The trio were spotted cavorting nude around the Kibble Bank area in broad daylight last Sunday afternoon.

Shocked onlookers said the streakers were dancing up and down Hillingdon Road in full view of family homes.

Police were called in after numerous 999 calls by stunned residents but the men were let off with only a warning.

Neighbours have reacted furiously at the news and have called for the police to take action.

One Kibble Bank resident, who did not want to be named, said: “I was gobsmacked. I could not believe it. They were dancing around the main road completely naked at 3-30 p.m. on a Sunday afternoon.

“If my young granddaughter was in she would have died of shame. Local children could have seen this and to witness such a spectacle would have been severely distressing.”

The men, believed to be in their teens, had been seen urinating near houses and gardens in the hours before the incident.

Police were called and officers spoke to the men but no arrests were made.

The resident said: “I am absolutely disgusted. But I am even more annoyed that the police have done nothing. They just told the men off and left. They have not done anything about it. The lads just walked away smiling.

“These men have walked away scot-free. Surely it is a public indecency offence?” Burnley police would not comment.
