Staff and patients dressed in their football shirts for the day as the hospice and BFC in the Community came together in the run up to the annual Community Day, which takes place on Saturday for the Leicester game.

Jack Cork came to Pendleside to learn more about the work done at the hospice and to visit the patients and staff.

Pendleside Hospice is such a loving and warm place - it’s much more homely than I expected and it’s got a really friendly atmopshere. Meeting the patients today has been a privilege and I’ve really enjoyed it.” said Jack about his visit.

One of Pendleside’s inpatients, Tony Cummings, a lifelong Burnley fan, was one of the patients to receive a special visit from Jack on Thursday. He was thrilled to meet him, have autographs signed for his grandchildren and chat about Burnley’s success this season.

Tony said: “I thought it was excellent, such a lovely day. Jack was such a courteous young man and a fantastic representative for the club. I’m so grateful he made the time to visit me and others at the hospice.”
