Burnley Magistrates’ Court round-up

Keith Culkinn (35), of Higher Causeway, Barrowford, admitted breaching the peace on September 5th in Barrowford. He was bound over in the sum of £100 for 12 months.

Marco Farigu (27), of Every Street, Nelson, admitted breaching the peace on September 6th in Brierfield. He was bound over in the sum of £100 for 12 months.

Tabaassum Hussain Shah (29), of Napier Street, Nelson, denied driving a motor vehicle on Percy Street, Nelson, while disqualified from driving and without insurance on August 27th and while breaching bail conditions. He was remanded on bail until trail on November 26th.

Stuart Murgatroyd (44), of Stockbridge Road, Padiham, admitted using or threatening unlawful violence with weapons towards other persons in Padiham on September 4th and caused £200 of damage to a silver Ford Fiesta. He was committed to prison for 18 weeks and ordered to pay a criminal courts charge of £180.00 and ordered to pay £200 in compensation.

Wayne Wilkins (36), of Brunshaw Avenue, Burnley, denied using or threatening unlawful violence towards other persons on September 6th in Burnley. He was remanded on bail until October 29th for trial.

Ashley Button (38), of Millbrook Court, Colne, pleaded guilty to one charge of resisting a police officer in the execution of their duty and possession of a Class A drug.

He was also found guilty to one charge of assault by beating and one charge of criminal damage. All offences took place on May 3rd in Colne.

He was sent to prison for 18 weeks and was told to pay a victim surcharge of £80 and costs of £480.
